If you think Spearfishing is for wealthy, fearless men and women that kill fish for fun, you are so wrong. At Spearfishing Today here in Mexico we teach you how to Spear a fish or how to become a better, a more selective and sustainable Hunter. But here’s the thing: we also spread our vision on life; values how to treat the ocean with respect and how to be more with less.
Years ago when I started to live the Spearfishing Dream in Mexico, I quickly was realizing that this new lifestyle made it possible to look at life and the world in such a different way. Later, I read a super interesting story written by Courtney Carver (https://bemorewithless.com/author/admin/) who had started a “be more with less” movement. OMG… Did that sound so familiar. Inspiration to slow down, reassess, and get real about how you want to live life.
Teaching Today’s youth how to get food responsibly using a Speargun, is a great Opportunity. Not only do they learn what Spearfishing is all about – but you’re teaching this next Generation how to care about our planet. Teaching children concepts like Environmental Responsibility and Sustainability: that’s taking care of the future.
“Roughly 76 percent of the Youth of Today strongly believe issues like climate change can be solved if action is taken now. They also think safeguarding important lands and waters should be a priority regardless of any ancillary benefits and the struggling economy.” (Source: The Nature Conservancy)
Grouper is NOT in Season in the state of Quintana Roo in Mexico from February 1st ,2017 until March 31st, 2017; so, in these days mentioned one can not (spear) fish for (Black) Grouper. In Spanish we say: Mero / Negrillo está en Veda. We think that is great! Grouper can be left to reproduce. In other words, nice for Grouper itself. Nice for snorkelers and scuba divers. And nice for fishermen; so that we can have fish for the future. Grouper Season in Mexico 2017, check out http://www.gob.mx/conapesca
VIEW THE FULL STORY

Comments Off on Pesca con arpón. Gran poder. Gran responsabilidad.
VIEW THE FULL STORY
